Home again, home again!

With masses of unpacking and laundry and tired cranky children. But I am not complaining - a fantastic vacation was had by all! I'm sure a few holiday photos will make their way onto ye olde blog, once I have sorted through the 2000+ pics that we took (yikes!).

While I had an amazing holiday, and managed to baste about 300 of my little hexies (only about 1200 more to go!), I was beginning to miss my sewing machine, so this afternoon I pulled out these AMH Little Folks fat quarters, which I got on sale a few months ago:
Voile, so soft and lovely! I plan to make a king size summer weight quilt inspired by Leila's simple and perfect quilt. Let's not think about the fact that fall is already in the air here in this part of the northern hemisphere. If I'm lucky it will be finished before fall is officially here. And then I will be responsible and get back to work on the pirate quilt. And the Day of the Dead quilt. And the remake of the girly-girl quilt. And...well you get the picture: no lack of WIPs, or future WIPs, around here.

After a total lack on Internet action, I'm jumping back in and linking up with Freshly Pieced WIP Wednesday. It counts as a WIP when you've pulled the fabric out of the cupboard right? And the hexagon megaquilt continues on (probably for the next few years...) - I am trying to come up with a design plan for it, no scrappy hexies for this one, so that I can start stitching them together. I am thinking chevrons!

What do you think?

I'll be back later this week to share some fabricy goodness, but now I am off to visit some blogs that I have missed commenting on - especially all the fantastic posts and tutorials for the Let's Get Acquainted blog hop. Here is the list of the recent and upcoming participants:
